Me atop a very high peak.
Me atop a very high peak.
I currently teach English Language Arts at an Alternative Learning Center in Brooklyn, where I work with students who have been temporarily reassigned due to disciplinary issues. My classroom provides structure, consistency, and high expectations, while also creating space for reflection, growth, and re-engagement with school.
My academic background is in Shakespeare and Milton, and my teaching draws from both classical texts and contemporary writing to build students’ literacy, critical thinking, and civic engagement. I use a Socratic approach to foster discussion and help students connect literature to their own lives.
Whether working on persuasive writing, structured debates, or literary analysis, I emphasize peer feedback and revision to help students develop their voice and confidence. My goal is to prepare all students, including those who have struggled, to succeed in future academic settings.
Outside of the classroom, I enjoy playing chess, learning languages, and mountaineering.
